Who are we?
Thyroid WA Support Group was established in 2005 and consists of members who have
experienced health issues with their thyroid and wish to support other Western Australians.

In 2011, the Thyroid WA Support Group Inc. was officially launched as a not-for-profit
organisation.  We are tax exempt and membership fees or donations are tax deductible.

The inaugural board comprises of Chair- John Boyd, together with Monique Atkinson,
Bridget Boyd, Graeme Mutton and Catherine White.

We would also like to acknowledge another foundation member, Stuart Ramsay.

Also assisting the board, is a very enthusiastic and active group of volunteers, whose
combined efforts will aid in achieving our aims of:

         AWARENESS, SUPPORT, ADVOCACY

What we do
  • Offer support to other thyroid patients and their family members
  • Provide educational seminars at community centres around Perth on a regular basis
  • Produce a regular newsletter based on the latest scientific research
  • Liaise with the medical profession
  • Hold open forums where patients can share their stories and ask questions
  • Advocate for the rights of thyroid sufferers
  • Fundraise and seek government funding for education and research
