Thyroid Health Presentations & Meetings
Fatigue. Weight gain. Depression.
These are only some of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid. There are many other conditions such as overactive thyroid and thyroid cancer. It sounds scary, but there is help available.
THYROID WA gives educational seminars all over WA. The aim of the seminars is to educate, support and give guidance to sufferers, many of whom have been undiagnosed for years. It is estimated that 1 in 14 Australians have a thyroid condition and for women over 40, the number is 1 in 5. There is a great need for these seminars; they are always popular and usually booked out.

The THYROID WA SUPPORT GROUP INC. is a not-for-profit support group. It was established in 2005 and it promotes AWARENESS, SUPPORT and ADVOCACY for better thyroid function, not only for the patient, but the whole community. Thyroid disorders are often overlooked, and also misunderstood. Thyroid disease can affect you physically, mentally and emotionally which can all add to the confusion in getting the right diagnosis. Autoimmune thyroid disease is insidious and develops over a considerable time with general intellectual deterioration and changes in personality often not noticed by family members.
